Most of my life has been spent photographing and working with animals and people involved in conservation issues. While the problems exist in different countries, the fundamental issues remain inside each of us -- we all want to better our lives, and enjoy the limited time and resources we have here. Though contradictory, these desires can also unite us in the challenge to keep ourselves and the planet healthy.
We all walk a fine line between what we care for, and what we choose to exclude from our circle of concern. Hopefully that circle can be widened with the right images. Most of these come from self-funded projects, with a few from assignments along the way. Either way, they are the result of a lifelong obsession to record these often inspiring, sometimes discouraging, yet always intensely relevant, issues.
Wherever I have witnessed overwhelming environmental problems, I have also met equally amazing, dedicated people with heartfelt solutions.
